When Key West, FL physician, Dr. Elias Gerth, M.D., became dissatisfied with the local radiology services available to the Key West community, he went to his friend, businessman Bob Dias, to discuss ideas on how to address this situation. Bob got the idea to build a full service diagnostic imaging center in a shopping strip. The imaging center was to provide superior, cost effective radiology services in a convenient location for the local community. Bob Dias is no stranger to start up businesses; he was the cofounder of Mail Boxes, Etc., now owned by United Parcel Service (UPS), which was a successful franchise of convenient mail service stores typically located in high traffic retail strip centers.
