Middle East Health IT Leadership Summit of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (November 15-17) will have official inauguration today under the auspices of Mohammed bin Hassan bin Ali, Under-Secretary, Ministry of Health. The summit will convene government, healthcare and technology leaders to advance the quality of care for all citizens. This summit and future leadership summits in the region, will enable to draw upon global best practices to ensure that healthcare delivery organizations are able to do more with less usage IT tools.
Major areas of focus during the summit include the technological implications of major insurance implementations and the total investment required for health IT. It is critical that senior decision makers understand the system-wide implications of health IT and how it can bring value to all healthcare stakeholders. The ME Health IT Leadership Summit also announced a partnership with the Saudi Association for Health Informatics. As part of this collaboration, the Health IT Leadership Summit will conduct its next Organising Committee meeting in conjunction with the Saudi eHealth Conference during April 24-28, 2010 in Riyadh.
