NBO Holds Cancer Awareness Talks

National Bank of Oman () recently organized a talk on ‘ awareness and the importance of early diagnosis’, for its staff. In keeping with the bank’s commitment to continuously develop and train staff and increase awareness on social issues, ’s Learning and Development Division invited Yuthar Mohammed al Rawahy, Founder and Chairperson of National Association for (NACA) and Aseel Abdul Elah al Taee, MB, Ch B, DGO, specialist obstetrics/gynaecology, from Welcare Diagnostic and Treatment Centre, to address and educate staff on this important subject.

Yuthar and Dr Elah explained the need for cancer awareness and stressed on the importance of early diagnosis. They advised the audience not to panic, to take necessary precautions and regular check-ups for early detection of cancer. Salah al Raisi, NBO’s Acting Head — Learning and Development Division, inaugurated the session and encouraged participants to be interactive and make maximum use of the opportunity provided by the bank. Every year the month of October is dedicated to raising global awareness about breast cancer and to support and assist the rehabilitation of cancer survivors.

The National Association for Cancer Awareness in Oman annually organizes a number of events during this period. The Association recently organized the annual walk cum awareness campaign activities for families and children. The theme of the Cancer Walk this year was ‘Together we care’.
