The Medical Commission will soon make the online registration mandatory for companies seeking medical check-up for their newly recruited workers.
The Commission launched the online registration service last month jointly with the e-government. It enables companies to fix appointments and pay the fees for the check ups online.
“Several companies have already been using the service. We will make it mandatory for all companies that have registered with the e-government after the Eid Al Adha holidays. Only the small companies will be allowed to use the manual system,” Dr Ahmed Kamal Naji, director of the Medical Commission told this newspaper yesterday.
He said the online service would deliver the expected results only if more companies come forward to avail of its benefits.
The Commission was expecting to accommodate more people at its premises on a daily basis once all the major companies switch over to the online system.
About 95 percent of the companies in the country have registered with the e-government. Earlier, company representatives (Mandoobs) had to come to the Commission personally for taking appointments and payment of fees.
” The online system is working properly and we have not faced any major problems. Currently we are giving training to Mandoobs on how to use the new system. It is simple and fast. A Mandoob can book for up to 100 workers at just one click,” added Naji.
A print out of this receipt is to be produced while going for the check up to identity the employee and cross- check the information provided in the application form.
“The service is now available only for companies. However, in future we will expand to other categories of employers as well as individuals” said Al Naji.
