By looking at the growth potential of the health care sector in the region, the government and the industry have felt the urge to build a forum to highlight the latest healthcare IT innovation trends.
HIMSS Middle East Health IT Leadership Summit, a forum for education, collaboration and dialogue, announced a three-day summit from November 15 to 17 at Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort in Muscat.
The forum will showcase the best healthcare IT practices along with the region’s most advanced technology providers in the healthcare industry.
The summit offers a distinct networking and B2B platform that leverages the growth potential of the Middle East market.
Organised under the patronage of the Ministry of Health for the Sultanate of Oman, key government officials, healthcare and technology leaders will discuss the latest innovation and strategies to advance the quality of health care for all citizens in the region.
“Major areas of focus in the program include the technological implications of major insurance implementations and the total investment required for health IT,” said Abdul Rahman A.S. Al Tauqi, co-chair of the Middle East Health IT Leadership Summit and director-general of information technology at the Ministry of Health.
“It is critical that senior decision-makers understand the system-wide implications of health IT and how it can bring value to all health care stakeholders,” he commented.
“This summit and future leadership summits in the region will enable us to draw upon global best practices to ensure that health care delivery organisations are able to do more with less using health IT,” said Hamad Al Daig, co-chair of the Middle East HIT Leadership Summit and chief information officer, King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre, Saudi Arabia.
