KUSTAR organized a blood donation campaign for its students, staff and faculty in cooperation with the Blood Bank Abu Dhabi.
During his participation in the blood drive Dr. Arif Sultan al Hammadi, KUSTAR’s Interim President, praised the Blood Bank for its active role in nurturing the concept of regular blood donation within all public and private establishments, as well as individuals in the community to instill humanitarian values and help save lives. Dr. Arif also stressed the importance of holding such activities on regular basis as part of the University’s corporate social responsibility program.
Dr. Mohammed Al Mulla, KUSTAR’s Abu Dhabi Campus Manager, commented on the importance of holding such activities on regular basis as part of the University’s corporate social responsibility program. “With such initiatives in our corporate social responsibility program, we aim to encourage a spirit of volunteer work amongst the students, staff and faculty alike to ultimately support the community”.
About KUSTAR
Khalifa University of Science, Technology and Research (KUSTASR) was established in February 2007 by a decree issued by the UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
KUSTAR’s main campus is located in Abu Dhabi, while it operates with another campus in Sharjah, and presently offers bachelor degrees in Computer, Telecommunication and Electronic Engineering, Master’s and Doctorate degree programs in Computer, Telecommunication and Electronic Engineering, in addition to the Master’s degree in Information Security. In the future, KUSTAR will also offer degrees in disciplines such as Engineering, Logistics and Management, Life Sciences and Homeland Security. KUSTAR is open to men and women from all nationalities with particular emphasis being placed on educating young UAE nationals.
An international Centre for Research & Development is being developed to ensure that research is an integral part of the university.
