Blood banks received a boost after the Dubai Health Authority’s human resources section organized a donation drive.
The drive was organized with the Al Wasl Blood Donation Centre and was held at the DHA headquarters to encourage employees to become regular donors and saw 65 units of blood collected.
Dr Amer Ahmad Sharif, from the DHA, emphasized the importance of holding drives to cater to Dubai’s ever-increasing demand for blood. He encouraged the blood donation centre to organize such mobile blood donation drives in work places so that it becomes more convenient for people to be able to donate blood.
“Donating blood does not take more than half an hour and it is a noble deed because it saves lives,” Sharif said.
