The Dubai Ambulance Services Centre has been all through the day, 24-hour standby until further notice to attend to emergencies during the unstable weather conditions.
Khalifa Hassan Bin Darrai, executive director of the Dubai Ambulance Services Centre, said the centre had been put on emergency alert and increased its daily working hours from 12 to 24 until further notice on orders by Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Chief of Dubai Police.
He said the centre had prepared 56 dedicated ambulances, five disaster vehicles and three field hospital buses to cope with emergencies during the unstable weather conditions. All paramedics have also been put on standby.
On whether the centre will use motorbikes to reach cases that could be stuck in traffic jams, Bin Darrai said all motorbikes had been put on hold because it was dangerous for paramedics to ride on slippery roads.
