The Ras Al Khaimah Medical District has asked residents and parents with children, who suffer minor health problems or illnesses, to visit healthcare centres in different parts of the Emirate and spare Saqr Hospital the biggest government hospital in RAK for patients with emergency cases.
Abdullah Shaheen, Director of the RAK Medical District said 80 per cent of the patients received at the Children’s Emergency Section of Saqr Hospital do not require emergency treatment or care and could be handled by the various healthcare centres.
“The healthcare centres across the emirate have the necessary medical facilities to handle the different health problems. In case the patients require emergency or other medical services, the doctors at these medical centres will always refer them to a bigger hospital,” said Shaheen.
