MP Dr Mohammad Al-Duwailah, Controller of the National Assembly, called for strict monitoring of the prices of medicine sold in pharmacies across the country.
Al-Duwailah commended the action by Minister of Health Dr Hilal Al-Sayer to offer 50 percent discount on all drugs sold in the pharmacies.
He indicated the focus should be on pharmacies which do not stick to the standardized price in the region, while recommending a joint importation of medicine among the Gulf countries. He noted the move will end monopoly, and contribute in reducing the prices of medicine at the private pharmacies.
Meanwhile, MP Dr Hassan Jowhar blames the Minister of Commerce and Industry for failing to answer parliamentary questions over the preliminary elections at the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
He stressed the minister will be subjected to political questioning and held accountable, if he continuously decline to answer the questions.
