School Health Services Leads A Diabetes Awareness Campaign in Abu Dhabi

School Health Services (SHS), in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC); will be leading “Diabetes Awareness Campaign” at 17 schools in Abu Dhabi City, Al Ain & Western Region. The campaign is created to bring about awareness of Diabetes among school children.

Dr. Sumaya Marzouqi, Manager of School Health Services, said; “At AHS – School Health Services (SHS), we believe in educating the children, who are the future citizens of the world about Diabetes, which is the key healthcare concern worldwide. This campaign will raise awareness in order to promote a healthy lifestyle and habits, thereby preventing the spread of this disease in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Another aspect that this campaign will address is the prevalence of Diabetes among students.”

The schedule for the “Diabetes Awareness Campaign” will be the same at all the respective schools, which aims to increase the awareness of diabetic among students, their families and the community by educating them about the causes, prevention, treatment, and daily life activities of diabetic students.
