Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Chancellor of Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT), H.E Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, and H.E Dr. Hanif Hassan Ali, Minister of Health, signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate in providing and managing a program in Bachelor of Science in Nursing in three federal institutes of nursing in Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah in order to provide qualified nurses in the Northern Emirates.
Dr. Salem Al Darmaki, Director General of the Ministry of Health, said that the MoU signing with the HCT strengthen the confidence of large numbers of qualified nurses due to the broad colleges’ experiences that qualifies them to implement this initiative.
Further, he added that graduates can register and obtain the necessary license to practice nursing after passing the state exams and meet other licensing requirements. On the other hand, Dr. Tayeb Kamali said that cooperation with the Ministry of Health confirms the depth and seriousness of HCT courses, which aims to qualify graduates for admission to the labor market and meet the needs of nursing in the country.
