Free health checkups and fitness assessments to the UAE residentsThe City Hospital, Welcare Clinic Mirdif, Welcare Clinic Ibn Battuta, and announced that they are going to offer free and to the residents. These services will be provided on the 25th and 26th of September in Dubai. The health checkups are going to include testing blood pressure, cholesterol levels and body mass index (BMI).

Moreover, Technogym professional trainers are providing free fitness assessments along with exercise suggestions for every participating individual. The trainers are going to highlight the importance of monitoring heart rates during exercises to improve the overall health status. Dr. Pietie Loubser, Chief Clinical Officer at EHL, commented on the offered health checkups saying that “The aim of the testing is to provide people in the UAE with a better understanding of their own risk of cardiovascular disease. Through awareness, a simple plan of action can be developed to improve the condition of their cardiac health,”

All provided services are offered in acknowledgement of World Heart Day, which was initiated by World Health Organization (WHO) and World Heart Day. Guillaume Mariole, Technogym Emirates Master Trainer, said “World Heart Day is the perfect chance for the community to learn a little about themselves, their bodies and how they tick. The Technogym team will be sharing their experience as well as provide tips with the overall goal to enrich and make a difference to someone’s life” Reports show that heart diseases are responsible for 22% of the mortality cases recorded in the UAE, which means that such diseases are the number one cause of death in the country. There several risk factors for heart diseases including smoking, high cholesterol and glucose levels, in addition to familial history of cardiac diseases.
