The Chairman of Pharmacists Association in Iran, Dr. Rahbar Mozhdehi Azar, mentioned that the country is currently producing 97% of its requirements of medications. He added that the 3% of medications are for products requiring high technologies for manufacture or their consumption in Iran is limited, so it such medications have no economical outcome for their productions. Dr. Azar said that Iran is about to achieve self-sufficiency in pharmaceutical products and soon the country will be able to export some of its nationally-produced medications.
