CoARTEIn an announcement made yesterday by ’s School of Health Sciences, during the International , it was mentioned that the Respiratory Therapy program of the School received accreditation by the Council on Accreditation for Respiratory Therapy Education (CoARTE).

Christine Bolan, Dean of Health Sciences mentioned that “This is a huge accomplishment for our school and it will be of great benefit to the students, Our Respiratory Therapy (RT) program is the first international program to be accredited by CoARTE.”

The accreditation means that graduates in the RT program meet the national competency standards for entry-level respiratory therapists in Canada, and they are able to take Canadian licensing exam in addition to working worldwide.

This is the first accreditation for a Health Sciences program at CNA-Q, both the Medical Radiography Technology and Pharmacy Technician programs are currently undergoing the accreditation process.

The declaration for the accreditation was made on Lung Health Day at Hamad Medical Corporation’s Education Center. This is the third year that CNA-Q has recognized Lung Health Day with interactive student booths and guest speakers.
