Canada and Saudi Arabic exchanging physician program

Canada and Saudi Arabic exchanging physician program declared that it wants to employ more Saudi physicians and healthcare personnel for training at its high education facilities and foundations. Peter Van Loan, Canadian Minister for International Trade, mentioned that, “So far, our country has trained around 3,000 Saudi physicians, including the world renowned surgeon and current Health Minister Dr. Adbullah Al-Rabeeah. At present, we have 700 physicians receiving their training at Canadian healthcare institutions,”

The Candian minister visited the kingdom on Monday for a three day official visit.

Van loan declared such comments at a press conference on Tuesday. He also signed a mermoradum with Dr. Al- Rabeeah at the ministry of health in Riyadh. The agreement is going to improve cooperation between healthcare officials in the two countries.Van Loan said, “Though cooperation between the two countries in healthcare dates back to three decades, this MOU will create new opportunities to enhance and increase cooperation in the health and medical fields and enable the Kingdom to benefit from Canada, which is recognized as having one of the best healthcare system in the world,”

Moreover, Dr. Al-Rabeeh explained that the MOU is going to enable both countries to exchange medical specialists and share physician and healthcare expertise. In addition, it will enable the kingdom to benefit from Canadian professionals in establishing model healthcare institutions and it will provide good opportunities for Saudi physician and healthcare personnel to have further training in their fields in Canada. Loan’s visit to the kingdom will end today by meeting Saudi businessmen at the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
