A National Plan In Jordan To Face H1N1

H1N1 in JordaIt has been announced that the caused four deaths since it has reappeared in Jordan this month. The Health Ministry Spokesperson, Hatem Azrui, said in The Jordan Times that the whole number of swine flu deaths reached 19 since the first case was reported.

Mahmoud Sheyyab, the Jordanian health minister, said that there are 5 patients have completely recovered while 10 are still receiving treatment, five of whom were in “fair” conditions and were receiving treatment at home. He added, “The remaining five cases are being treated at the Kingdom’s hospitals,”

The ministry is facing the disease by an integrated plan prepared by the National Committee for the Prevention of Epidemics.  According to the current treatment protocol, patients who suffered from mild symptoms and do not fall under the high risk category can be treated at home without anti-viral or medical tests and their case will not be reported. But people with chronic diseases, pregnant women, children and the elderly considered from the high risk category.

According to the ministry, there are sufficient quantities of Tamiflu and the anti-viral medicine for H1N1 treatment. The ministry advised the people to take all necessary precautions to resist any outbreaks of H1N1, such as washing hands regularly and keeping them always clean especially after shaking hands, beside covering their mouths and nose while sneezing or coughing.
