Ministry Of Health Is Prepared To Fight Any Coming H1N1 Cases

More swin flu cases are comingAccording to the Jordanian Minister of Health, Mahmoud Sheyyab, the Ministry has sufficient amounts of Tamiflu, which is the anti-viral medicine prescribed for the treatment of . “The ministry is completely prepared to deal with any new H1N1 cases and there are 19 hospitals across the Kingdom ready to receive suspected cases of ” said Dr. Sheyyab.

The minister announced this week that a new H1N1 case was found in a woman in her fifties after she was diagnosed with the flu. Sheyyab said to The Times yesterday “This woman is in a private hospital and she receives treatment until this moment”. He added “It was expected to have the swine flu epidemic back especially in the winter”. Sheyyab commented that the health authorities are ready for any possible H1N1 outbreak.

The ministry declared that the Kingdom has a total number of recorded H1N1 cases about 3,049 since the first case recorded in June 2009, and the total number of death cases related to swine flu is 16. Since November 2009, more than 45,000 people have been vaccinated against the H1N1 virus. The ministry of health is currently discussing with the World Health Organization the latest regarding bird flu.
