King Fahd Hospital Is Trying To Receive International Accreditation

king fahd hospitalKing Fahd Hospital, Jeddah, will hold an open day in order to inform its staff about plans to receive international accreditation from a well-known United States body. Dr. Amal Hassan Sultan, molecular biology consultant at King Fahd Hospital and team leader mentioned that “Staff awareness, communication and coordination will be discussed on the day. This is another step forward for King Fahd Hospital to improve and develop its health service to citizens and residents at international standards”.

Dr. Amal reported that there are fourteen teams from distinguish disciplines and sections at the hospital who will be operating in order to ensure that accreditation occurs. Moreover, she noted that “The day is designed to educate hospital staff about the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) for Hospital Accreditation and the requirements for international accreditation”. 

In addition, she reported that “The Ministry of Health has always been aware of the importance of not only spreading awareness about disease, but also helping patients recover as fast as possible; the day will include an introduction to the commission and the importance of safety and quality of patient care.”

Sultan, mentioned that the commission has received worldwide recognition as an effective quality assessment and management equipment.
