“Health Ministry’s Services: Present and Future Prospects” Seminar Calls for Developed Services in Riyadh

RiyadhA seminar titled “Health Ministry’s Services: Present and Future Prospects” was held by the Saudi health minister, Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, on Tuesday in . This seminar aimed to raise efforts to develop services. “The national comprehensive healthcare program, which has been presented to higher authorities, would help improve health services in the Kingdom, matching with international standards. We have adopted the slogan ‘Patient first,’ set out a number of strategies to provide utmost care for patients and deployed qualified staff for the purpose” he said in the opening session.

Abdul Rahman Al-Shaqawi, director general of the Institute of Public Administration, said “The seminar was aimed at shedding light on the ministry’s present services and the challenges it faces. Despite government’s efforts to provide the best health services, some studies have showed that the services are poor in some regions and below the expectations of beneficiaries”. Also Al-Shaqawi highlighted the challenges facing the Kingdom’s health sector including the increase in population, shortage of specialized and qualified manpower and speedy technological advancement.
