Medical Expenses Raise to $80 U.S. per Citizen in Iraq

IraqOnly 80 U.S. dollars has been allocated for of each citizen in Iraq, a sum clearly scarce for covering the expenses of long-term ailments, as Iraqi health minister commented. Majid Hama-Amin said to Aknews that despite the sum is not pleasant, it’s more than the previous years, without mentioning the allocations in the previous years.

Hama-Amin commented “A neighboring country as Iran has assigned $250 for medical expenses of each citizen in 2011 and a super power like the U.S. $2,500”. He explained that the Iraqi reimbursement sum is low because the budget for Iraqi Health Ministry is limited-only $4.8 billion. “The sum clearly will not cover the expenses for chronic and terminal diseases like cancer. There are nearly 16,000 cases of cancer in Iraq while the price for a single cancer injection may reach up to $2,500” he added.
