The Research Council (TRC) in Oman will Build 53 Research Projects

Oman53 research projects will receive support from () in in a number of fields such as healthcare, education and the telecommunication sectors. Those projects were chosen from a total of 112 presented to the council in the first quarter of 2011, as Dr. Ali al Lawati, director of the research department in TRC, told Muscat Daily.

He said “Fifty three doctorate and master’s degree researches were approved and adopted by the council as part of its 2020 plan to support national resources through scientific research. We have already begun to establish a database for researchers in the sultanate through which they can easily keep in touch. It will also enhance cooperation in joint research. Among the key strategies that TRC will seek to adopt will be supporting and hosting seminars in order to help bring global knowledge and scientific advancement to Oman“.

The benefits of using nanotechnology in water desalination will be studied after the establishment of a research chair is approved by the council. This research chair will be located at Sultan Qaboos University. Dr Joydeep Dutta, will be the manager of the chair that aims to provide PhD and MA scholarships for researchers.
