On Saturday a new campaign will be released in Taif to vaccinate about 225,000 male and female students against measles. Sa’eed Al-Zahrani, spokesman of Taif Directorate of Health Affairs commented “All preparations have been made to launch the campaign in elementary, intermediate and secondary schools. There will be 230 field teams from health centers throughout Taif and its villages to vaccinate students”.
He added that a doctor from a public health center will present in each team. He said “In the beginning of the five-week campaign, students at public and private schools, community schools, international schools, Holy Qur’an memorization schools, social-care centers and professional schools will be vaccinated. Parental consent is not needed because the effort is part of a national campaign that targets the eradication of measles, German measles and rubella”.
