Vaccination Certificates are Required for all Pilgrims Going to Makkah

MakkahThe Health Ministry in Dubai announced yesterday that to should have a meningitis vaccination certificate from the ministry and should be valid for more than 10 days. Also pilgrims with chronic diseases, pregnant women and the obese individuals are asked to be vaccinated against flu. Dr Mahmoud Fikri, executive director for Health Policies said “These health procedures were set by the Saudi officials to safeguard pilgrims from infectious diseases”.

“The [UAE] Ministry will provide one dose of quadruple vaccination for adults and children of two years for free at all primary healthcare centers. Pilgrims will be provided with brochures on how to protect themselves against infectious diseases, their symptoms, transmission, complications and treatment” added Dr Fikri. Pilgrims are prevented from bringing food products except canned food. Moreover, in order to ensure pilgrims’ comfort, Sharjah International Airport officials yesterday met with Haj organizers. Ali Salem Al Midfa, Director of Sharjah Airport Authority said that the meeting discussed final preparations.
