“Hakeem” E-Health Program in all Jordan Hospitals Soon

Amman in Amman will include the new implanted “Hakeem” e-health program by the Ministry of Health. Minister of Health Abdul Latif Wreikat said “The program will be gradually implemented in the Kingdom’s public hospitals and health centers based on regulations that will be developed by partners”. He told the Times yesterday that the National Fiber Optic Network must be in contact with these facilities. He added that by using this program the ministry will avoid the prescription of unnecessary medicines, saving time and effort for both doctors and patients.

This program was launched by His Majesty King Abdullah in 2009 and started in the last month to ask the concerned agencies to implement it across the world. Through this program all medical history and information of all patients in Jordan will be saved such as tests, procedures and surgeries they undergo, in addition to the diseases they suffer from, their allergies, and the medications they take. The minister mentioned “The system also seeks to minimize medical errors and provide accurate information on patients which will reduce pressure on medical facilities”.
