An introductory course is now being submitted in Oman by the National Association for Cancer Awareness (NACA). This course is specialized in palliative care for community and hospital nurses. H E Sheikh Dr. Ali bin Talib al Hinai, Undersecretary of Health and Planning is the manager of the course that started on Sunday at the City Seasons hotel. The Middle East Cancer Consortium and Oncology Nursing Society of America is the partner of the Ministry of Health in organizing the course.
“Forty-seven nurses under the Ministry of Health from different regions of the country, the Armed Forces Hospital and Sultan Qaboos University are attending the course” said a NACA official. The official added that nurses can help in publishing information about palliative care problem. “The knowledge gained from this program can help alleviate patient suffering with a variety of clinical procedures” she commented.
