The event runs throughout October and is aimed at unifying the efforts of individuals, companies, activities and events in the region wishing to support breast cancer patients and promote true medically produced and backed breast cancer awareness.

The event has three main aims, one of which is redressing some of the current problems with delivering ‘awareness’ in the region. has organized a free breast health talk on Wednesday 10th October at Dubai Healthcare City – given by a Breast Cancer Specialist from the UK.

Dubai Goes Pink has already received tremendous help from many companies and individuals wanting to get involved. Adding their support is M.H. Co., the leading international retail franchise operator, who are sponsoring the production of the pink wristbands and donating them back to Breast Cancer Arabia to help them raise more funds.

In addition, staff in 400 stores operated by Alshaya in Dubai, including Next, Boots and Starbucks Coffee, are wearing the official Dubai Goes Pink wristbands to help promote awareness. “It’s wonderful to have big brand names taking part in our pink initiative this year and lending their support to this important regional initiative that has far reaching benefits for the community,” says Elizabeth Reyes, Director, Breast Cancer Arabia. “We hope that many more will follow Alshaya’s example”.

“We’re delighted to be able to contribute to this worthwhile cause of raising awareness about Breast Cancer Arabia’s work, commented [Hilary Baker, Vice President of Corporate Communications at Alshaya]. “ This is a simple way for our employees, across our stores in Dubai, to show their support by wearing the pink wristbands in-store. We wish Breast Cancer Care Arabia every success for the Dubai Goes Pink activity this month.” “Breast cancer treatment is very costly and not everyone has the means to afford it,” says Elizabeth. “These women need the support of the community.”
