Three Private Hospitals were Closed by the Ministry of Health in Oman

AmmanThree private medical centers have been shut down temporarily in for not obeying the ministry’s provisions of development their facilities. The closure was made by the Technical and Administrative Irregularities Committee of the .

An official from the Ministry of Health told Times of that the Ministry also slapped fine of over 6,000 OMR on several private health institutions for flouting health regulations. The official added that the fines were levied after the institutions were found to be sub-standard during the ongoing inspection visits by a team representing the Ministry of Health.

The committee was surprised that some of the health workers were performing their duties without obtaining practice permits. Also the committee discovered that there was deficiency in the medical staff within some departments such as laboratory, radiology and physical therapy departments.

In the same time; Saif bin Mohammed Al Nabhani, the head of the Technical and Administrative Irregularities Committee at the Ministry of Health said that the ministry shut down those facilities because of providing drugs to patients without permission.

He added: “the Ministry of Health is coordinating with specialists in the General Directorate of Pharmacy and Drug Control Department to monitor the use of these drugs to put an end to these abuses.”
